Ochre Ribbon Day- 12th-19th February
Ochre Ribbon Week is acknowledged from 12 – 19 February each year and is an Aboriginal led campaign that looks at a call for action to end the violence. The purpose of Ochre Ribbon Week is to promote and raise awareness of the impacts of family violence in Aboriginal communities.
Ochre Ribbon Day is held on the start of the Ochre Ribbon Week campaign, 12th to the 19th of February. The Ochre Ribbon campaign is a community driven initiative highlighting the need to stop violence against men, women and children in Indigenous communities.
Various stakeholders in this campaign, including the National Family Violence Legal Prevention Services Forum, support the Ochre Ribbon campaign. Prevention is the key to ensuring safety for our children and their mothers, for keep families connected and protecting our culture.
